Like many states across the nation, New Hampshire too, will suffer from a nursing shortage in 20 years no thanks to an aging workforce, an aging populace, and a lack of sufficient nurse educators. Left to continue, the state will be 27% short of what’s required.

Economists predict the bulk of veteran nurses in New Hampshire will retire in a mere five years. The effect of an aging population is two-fold. On one hand, it’s making health care more critical than ever before. Aging patients require specialized care. On the other hand, it’s threatening New Hampshire’s current work force. An aging nursing staff needs replacing. This wouldn’t be a problem if it weren’t for the problem with a lack of sufficient nurse educators. It’s a bit of a catch-22 situation. But there’s a work-around.
Students like you can attend school online and bypass the lack of sufficient nurse educators. Online, you aren’t limited to educators in your state. You can learn from the best anywhere in the country which is especially important since getting a BSN will increase your opportunities as a clinical nurse specialist, home health nurse, nurse practitioner, nurse-midwife, or nurse anesthetist, and prepared nurse.
