One area of Ohio strongly affected by the nation’s growing nursing shortage is the state’s west central areas. Even the state’s nursing educators are diminishing, placing an even greater risk on Ohio’s ability to meet a growing demand on resources. The entire country is expected to care for as many as 78 million elderly patients, and Ohio is one state expected to meet as strong a demand in its own area. It will specifically need nurses who specialize in medical technology, pharmacy, radiology technology, and therapy treatments.
